A young family in Chicago’s South loop Chicago were looking to update their town home’s master bedroom transforming it from a room used only for sleeping to a sanctuary where they could retreat from their toddlers and relax. Design Inside worked to create an inviting space that was everything they wanted and more. We started with the walls, finding a gorgeous raffia-weave wall covering and selecting a coordinating, deep, relaxing hue for the wall color. The eye is drawn to the rich textures of the wall covering while the swing-arm reading lamps are perfect for the late night reader, where the lamp shades recall the texture of the wall covering. A hexagonal, silk-shaded ceiling lamp from Stonegate replaced the over sized ceiling fan lending a soft light and a sense of timeless design. Additionally, the bedding and carpet were replaced to create the room you see here.
