Design Inside used black carbon cabinets, black glass inlays and frosted doors to create a modern kitchen for this bachelors Chicago townhouse

When this customer asked Design Inside to re-design the kitchen in his 2 bedroom townhouse that he was about to close on, we immediately knew that the first thing we wanted to do was to open up the space which was closed off by an existing wall. Opening up the space would allow us to create a modern space that would be a great place for entertaining and cooking. When designing the kitchen cabinet layout, Bill wanted to do something different than the standard 42″ wall cabinets throughout. To help break up the space, his design called for 2 sets of cabinets above the sink (instead of the typical single cabinet) to be slightly shorter than the adjacent 42″ wall cabinets. To create a bar area for the customers wine collection, Bill specified frosted aluminum doors along with a 30″ base cabinets. The remainder of the kitchen was finished off with marble countertops, under cabinet lighting, an under mount zero-radius stainless steel sink with a commercial grade faucet from Danze. Stainless steel toe kicks add a unique finishing touch.
