Hide That Ugly Powerstrip

Design Inside

Let’s be honest here, power strips are an ugly necessity of the electronic world we live in.  My workstation alone has 2 power strips that I hide under my desk using one of these nifty cable management systems from Ikea.  But, there are some areas where a cable management system is not possible, like in a home theater setup.  This is where a handy solution like the Power Bridge from designer Hyukjae Chang comes into play.  This device from Yanko Design allows you to plug in 6 devices, keep the cables tidy and it has a LED for each outlet which indicates the amount of power being used.  The unfortunate part about this absolutely brilliant design is that it’s only a design concept.

Hopefully there will be enough interest in a design like this, that the designer will produce this for the masses.  If anyone has found a cleaver Powerstrip solution, I would love to hear about it, leave us your comments.
